BC Care Providers is very pleased to announced the hiring of two new members of our team who will help us to achieve important goals for the seniors care sector.
Rebecca Morris and Rumana D’Souza are bringing their experience and talent to the dynamic team at BCCPA.
Rebecca Morris is our new Manager of Public Affairs for Assisted Living and Home Care. She brings a wealth of understanding of the health care sector, and familiarity with aging and dementia care from her work at the Alzheimer’s Society of BC. The new Public Affairs Manager position was created to expand the work BCCPA will be doing for its Assisted Living and Home Care membership, and to respond to overall changes in these parts of the seniors care sector.
“I am thrilled to be joining the BCCPA, where I’m looking forward to hearing from home care and assisted living members and addressing the issues that are important to them,” says Rebecca. “As B.C.’s population ages, home care and assisted living will continue to become an increasingly important component of the continuum of care. I’m excited to be working with the BCCPA to bring attention to these critical areas.”
Rumana D’Souza takes on the role as our new Digital Media and Communications Coordinator. Rumana hails from India and has accomplished a great deal in her time living in Canada. She is a freelance contributor to VICE Canada and a former intern with Vancouver Courier newspaper. In her journalism work she has reported on complex subjects, many which are health-related. A journalism school graduate, Rumana has a profound understanding of social and traditional media, as well as strong creative skills.
“I’m very pleased to become BCCPA’s new Digital Media and Communications Coordinator, and look forward to working with such a great team,” says Rumana. “It is an organization that I know does great work on behalf of seniors in BC.”
Both Rebecca and Rumana will report to Mike Klassen, our VP Communications and Stakeholder Relations, and will begin their new roles later next month.
