BC Care Providers Association (BCCPA) is hosting its first ever Care to Debate at this year’s 40th Anniversary annual conference on May 30th at Fairmont Chateau Whistler. The objective of this event is to select the number one motion regarding how to improve seniors care in B.C. or Canada. BCCPA is calling for debate submissions on the best motion that can help shape the advocacy and policy of the association in the continuing care sector for the upcoming years.
“We are looking forward to receiving submissions from passionate individuals who share similar goals as the association in improving seniors care,” says Michael Kary, Director of Policy and Research, BCCPA. “This is a great opportunity for individuals to have their voices heard as well as advance their idea or motion to enhance the quality of life for seniors.”
Five finalists will be chosen to present their motion to an audience of 250+ leaders in health and continuing care from across the country, as well as answer questions from our panel of judges. The final winner of the debate will be selected by the audience. The contest to become one of our Care to Debaters is open to all members of the public, including BCCPA members, sponsors, and students.
The chosen finalists will be eligible to the following benefits:
- Attend the BCCPA 40th Annual Conference and have their delegate fees waived (a $1,540 value)
Along with having delegate fees waived, the following also applies to full-time students registered at a post-secondary institution in Canada:
- Up to $200 to offset transportation costs
- Up to two nights stay at the luxurious Fairmont Chateau Whistler resort located at the base of Blackcomb Mountain (approximately $350/night)
To apply, simply fill out the motion template and submit by May 17th. For more information on Care to Debate click here.
