MEDIA ADVISORY: BCCPA to comment on BC Budget 2017 funding for seniors care

Burnaby, BC [February 20, 2017] – After the provincial government releases their 2017 BC Budget decision tomorrow, BC Care Providers Association (BCCPA) CEO Daniel Fontaine will be available to give his response regarding the budget release, and how it will affect seniors care in BC.

BCCPA has outlined recommendations to enhance and improve seniors care in their Strengthening Seniors Care: A Made-in-BC Roadmap report. The report stated that the provincial government must provide over $300 million in new annual investments for five years for the continuing care sector to meet the needs of an aging population. BCCPA also launched a province-wide campaign dubbed #CareCanBeThere earlier this year, targeted to BC families who need more access to supportive seniors care.
