The difficulties some might be facing in locating available care beds in Canada might increase, according to a recent report by Canada Mortgage and Housing (CMHC). According to their report, vacancy rates have dropped by almost half in the Vancouver area just this year.
Locating care homes within your BC community is the aim of a special initiative launched by BC Care Providers Association last April.
MyCareFinder.ca endeavours to address challenges of those who are seeking available care home beds for aging loved ones, by providing an easy-to-use online map and information database to find the right care bed in your community.
The decision to choose a care provider is never an easy one, and that challenge is compounded by the lack of supply. Fortunately, MyCareFinder.ca is a free resource that can take some of that stress out of your search.
MyCareFinder.ca also has a Facebook page that allows you to keep up to date on news about residential care, and shares background information and links to the website. Facebook users who are interested in the subject of seniors care, or are in the marketplace for care options in their community, are encouraged to “like” the MyCareFinder page.
