Gagan Lidhran, BCCPA Intern from Simon Fraser University

The BC Care Providers Association extends a warm welcome to our newest intern, Gagan Lidhran. Lidhran joins the BCCPA as a co-op student from Simon Fraser University. As a second year student she plans to major in Political Science and minor in Communications. Lidhran is passionate about providing excellent services for seniors in long term care, especially around issues of dementia. She looks forward to assisting the BCCPA with its Care to Chat speaker series and upcoming Annual Conference to further the discussion on emerging issues in seniors care.

Prior to doing her co-op, Lidhran has been involved with a community campus station at her previous hometown of Abbotsford, where she co-hosted her own radio show and interviewed members of the community, including former Mayor of Abbotsford Bruce Banman, and Rick Hansen.  She is passionate about politics with a focus on the media’s role in shaping the electorate and aspires to one day run for public office either provincially or federally. After the completion of her Bachelors in Political Science at SFU, Lidhran intends to pursue a Master’s of Political Science at UBC.
