BC Continuing Care Collaborative (by invitation)

On September 20, 2016, the inaugural BC Continuing Care Collaborative meeting took place at the SFU Wosk Centre for Dialogue. The BC Care Providers Association, in partnership with the Ministry of Health, gathered stakeholders from across the continuing care sector to turn ideas into actions.

The BCCPA is pleased to provide our members with access to exclusive training workshops focused on the continuing care sector. Click here for our upcoming workshops.  Our partners at SafeCare BC are committed to providing outstanding professional development for continuing care workers in BC as well as connecting continuing care workers to other professional development opportunities. If you would like to deliver a workshop for BCCPA members, you should complete the following one-page form and return it to our Director of Policy and Research at cathy@bccare.ca. The application will be reviewed and we will follow-up with you as soon as possible regarding whether it has been approved.

BC Care Awards

Every day front-line workers, staff, and care providers across B.C. engage in challenging and inspiring work. The BCCPA celebrates their dedication, innovation and excellence within the continuing care sector.

Nominations are now being accepted for our fourth annual BC Care Awards in the following catgories: 

Ed Helfrich Long-Service Excellence Award

Awarded to a member owner/operator or a member employee/contractor who has a 15+ year industry track record of developing and delivering quality care for individuals in care.

2017 Winner: Tom Crump

BC Care Provider of the Year

Awarded to a front-line care provider employed by one of our members who has demonstrated a commitment to quality, compassion and excellence in delivering care to one or more of our residents and/or clients.

2017 Winner – Home Care Provider of the Year: Mari Green, Beacon Community Services, Victoria
2017 Winner – Residential Care Provider of the Year: Tasia McLean, H&H Total Care

Innovation of the Year

Awarded to a member care provider or one of their employees who can demonstrate an innovation they have developed or introduced within the sector or their place of employment to improve the quality of care delivered.

2017 Winner: Bruce Devereux, Good Samaritan Society
