On February 19th, well over 100 people gathered in Victoria from across the province to recognize three very special individuals. They were the first three recipients of the new BCCPA awards – Jane Devji, Louise Johnson and Karen Mac.
There was a real buzz in the air when the Hon. Terry Lake, Minister of Health, got up on stage to present the awards. It was great to see the Minister take such a personal interest in the sector and those who are providing front-line care.
Attendees were also afforded the opportunity to hear a special concert from the Healthy Arts Society. They operate Concerts in Care and have performed in hundreds of care homes across the province.
Overall, it was a tremendous inaugural event that generated some great memories.
