How will the National Standard of Canada for Psychological Health and Safety in the Workplace affect BC’s Health Authorities as well as BCCPA members? For employers in the continuing care sector, it is unknown how a new national standard may impact their workplaces. At our November 17th Care to Chat, we will be hearing from Dr. Merv Gilbert an expert on the Standard, and what it could mean for the long term care sector.

“The National Standard for Canada for Psychological Health and Safety in the Workplace creates a framework for all Canadian organizations-small or large, public or private- to ensure the psychological health and safety of their employees,” says Gilbert. “This particularly relevant for areas, such as Continuing Care, that have seen increasing concerns about the mental well-being and security of staff.”

This important and timely topic will be discussed at our next Care to Chat on November 17th at the Terminal City Club, co-hosted with our event partner SafeCare BC.

We expect the event will sell out, so be sure to register today.

Our panelists bring experience from both the continuing care sector and in the field of mental health.
