In extension to our previous announcement of three nominees from the home health category of our Care Provider of the Year Award, BC Care Providers Association and EngAge BC are pleased to announce our other three nominees for the award.
Arlene Harkins is a Health Care Worker at Classic Lifecare. She is invaluable to her clients as she has a natural ability to assure and relieve their families’ burdens by assisting with their daily living activities. Her clients can connect with her with ease as her soft-spoken nature, calm demeanor and high level of competence allows them to entrust their well-being in her care.
Arlene has also demonstrated her dedication to her clients by supporting anxious seniors even during her personal time to ensure they’re comfortable and safe. She is also a champion in monitoring medication intake and treatments for her clients to ensure they are under proper care.
Christine Smith is the owner of Living Well Home Care in Vancouver Coastal Health. Christine is described as being a strong advocate for her staff. She works tirelessly behind the scenes to ensure her team is supported and that clients are receiving the best care. She entrusts her staff with decision making and trusts their judgement and ability when caring for clients. She takes care of her staff so they can take care of others.
As described by her staff team, everyone in the company adores Christine and her dedication and kindness has been recognized since the very beginning.
Dawna Lemky is a Community Care Aide from Advanced Home Care Solutions in Interior Health. Dawna is an outstanding, reliable, responsible and generous care aide who always offer extra support where needed for her clients. She has demonstrated commitment to her work by going out of way to ensure her clients’ homes are safe and that their families’ are aware of any changes that may affect them.
Dawna is always attentive and quick to report anything that might affect her clients, this ensures that proper care and support is provided in a timely manner.
