Last month, Drake Medox College proudly celebrated the graduation of its Health Care Assistant, Activity Assistant, and Community Support Worker students on Friday, February 21st in Vancouver. Snezana Ristovski, Senior Director of Programs & Organizational Development, had the honour of delivering the commencement speech, inspiring graduates as they embark on their careers in senior care, activity engagement, and community support.
The momentous occasion brought together over 160 graduates, along with more than 300 friends, family members, and faculty, to honour their achievements. As these graduates step into careers dedicated to supporting seniors and individuals in need, they embody the perfect blend of compassion and skill. Their work—whether providing essential care, facilitating activities, or offering community support—will make a lasting impact. In this field, small acts of kindness, a reassuring smile, and a few kind words can mean the world to those they serve.
Whether keeping people active, offering comfort and dignity, or assisting those facing health challenges or disabilities, these graduates will enrich lives and remind individuals that they are valued and heard.
Special thanks to Angela Del Bianco, Associate Director at Drake Medox College, and her dedicated team for organizing a heartfelt celebration filled with inspiring speeches, dinner, and music.
The commencement speech emphasized three key lessons: never give up, enjoy the journey, and lead by example. With these guiding principles, the graduates of Drake Medox College are ready to step forward with confidence and be the change to support our seniors and their communities.
On behalf of BC Care Providers Association, congratulates to all the new graduates!
