3rd annual provincial proclamation recognizes over 50,000 care providers
Feb 20th, 2019 (Victoria, B.C.): In recognition of the thousands of workers who take care of B.C. seniors every day, the Province of British Columbia has declared February 20th, 2019 as BC Seniors Care Providers Day.
“We are heartened by this recognition by the B.C. government of our seniors care providers — now in its third year in a row,” says BC Care Providers CEO Daniel Fontaine. The declaration coincides this week with the 6th Annual BC Care Awards, which took place in Victoria on Tuesday evening. The awards recognize excellence in the delivery of seniors’ care in home care, long-term care, and now in assisted living. The promoting and supporting workplace safety, and as well to acknowledge longstanding leadership in the seniors’ care sector.
Minister of Health, the Honourable Adrian Dix presented the awards for long-service, care provider of the year (home care, assisted living and long-term care), and safety champion.
