Over 160 top leaders in seniors care sector to attend 2nd BC Continuing Care Collaborative
Burnaby, BC (January 25, 2018) – Are we ready as a society for our aging population? Will there be enough workers to take care of all of us when we age?
Tomorrow, BC Care Providers Association in partnership with the BC Ministry of Health, are hosting over 160 stakeholders representing the seniors care sector in British Columbia for a dialogue on ways to address worker shortages. The theme for the event is “Help Wanted: Developing a Human Resource Strategy for Seniors Care.“
The day will feature a keynote talk by Hon. Adrian Dix, Minister of Health.
The delegates include senior leadership from the Ministry of Health and Ministry of Advanced Education and Skills Training, B.C.’s regional health authorities, labour unions, training colleges, seniors care providers, the BC Seniors’ Advocate, and a wide range of industry associations, making it the most comprehensive gathering ever on the subject of health human resources in B.C.

The day will consist of a number of discussion panels, followed by afternoon breakout sessions to strategize on solutions to meeting the challenge of seniors care worker shortages head-on.
