BC Care Providers Association is pleased to announce the appointment of Melanie Reinhardt, President of Vantage Living, to its Board of Directors.
“We are incredibly grateful to have the opportunity to add someone of Ms. Reinhardt’s caliber to our already incredibly strong board,” says Daniel Fontaine, BCCPA CEO. “We know that she will bring her expertise in seniors’ care and her passion for supporting older adults in B.C. to this new appointment,” he adds.
Melanie joined the Vantage Living team in late 2017, with more than a decade of industry experience. Those who work with her identify her strategic vision, strong leadership skills and a commitment to quality as being the qualities which define her as a leader in the sector. When asked about her decision to join Vantage Living late last year, Melanie noted that the culture of excellence is well aligned with her own personal attributes – specifically, opportunity, innovation and “doing it right”.
Melanie identifies as being a “hands-on” leader, and is a strong believer that relationships are key. To this end, Melanie regularly visits all of the nine Vantage Living residences, which provide independent, assisted living and long-term care.
“I think that it is really important to spend time with our residents, face to face, so that I can learn more about their experiences. Without these interactions it would be really hard for me to feel like we were making the best decisions for the people who trust us to support them,” says Reinhardt.
In just a short time Melanie has become involved in several BCCPA working groups including the working group for Quality Assurance in Home Health and the working group overseeing BCCPA’s response to the Assisted Living Tenancy Task Force.
“I am looking forward to joining the BCCPA board. BCCPA has a strong reputation for advocating on behalf of B.C.’s continuing care sector, but I also appreciate the broader stance which the organization takes on seniors issues. By committing myself to this role I feel that I am helping to ensure that seniors care across the province can continue to be strengthened,” says Reinhardt.
Melanie comes to her current role with undergraduate studies in political science, as well as certifications with IAP2 (International Association of Public Participation) and Procurement and Contract Management. She is a proud mom of four and enjoys spending her spare time on the tennis courts and cheering on the hockey teams.
