“What’s your strategy for improving seniors care in Canada?”
It is one of the most inviting settings in Canada – Whistler, BC. On May 28-31, the famous resort town welcomes BC Care Providers Association (BCCPA), as they host western Canada’s largest annual conference on seniors care.
This year, the first ever “Care to Debate“ event will be held on Tuesday, May 30th at Fairmont Chateau Whistler. The object of the debate will be to select the number one motion regarding how to improve seniors care in B.C. and Canada.
BCCPA is calling for debate submissions. Up to five finalists will present their motion to an audience of 250+ leaders in health and continuing care from across the country, as well as answer questions from our panel of judges. The final winner of the debate will be chosen by the audience.
Who can apply?
The contest is open to the public. Any post-secondary student across Canada is qualified. Simply, fill out the motion template and submit by the February 28th deadline. Learn more: https://bccare.ca/conference-speakers/#C2D
What If I Am Selected?
The selected finalists will be eligible to the following benefits:
- Attend the BCCPA 40th Annual Conference and have their delegate fees waived (a $1,540 value)
- Receive up to $200 to offset transportation costs
- Obtain free accommodation for two nights at the luxurious Fairmont Chateau Whistler resort located at the base of Blackcomb mountain (approximately $350/night)
*This entire package has an estimated value of $2,440
Why submit a motion?
This fun, interactive event is a great opportunity for students to gain experience that will contribute to their career goals, and build a network with health and seniors care professionals. Students are given a platform to bring forward their unique ideas to inform and influence delegates at western Canada’s largest conference on continuing care. The motion passed by the chosen student finalist will help shape the direction of the BCCPA’s strategy on seniors care.
