Over the past few years, we have witnessed a surge in climate-related weather events across the province. From massive heat domes to raging wildfires and devastating floods, these events have highlighted the major gaps in climate readiness across the long-term care sector and the healthcare system more broadly.
To better understand how the sector is preparing for these challenges, BC Care Providers Association (BCCPA), in partnership with Dr. Jennifer Baumbusch from the UBC School of Nursing, is inviting operators from the long-term care sector to take part in a survey on climate readiness response.
The survey is designed to gather insights on the overall climate emergency preparedness of the sector, including sustainability practices and past experiences of sites with climate-related weather events.
Survey Details:
- Survey Link: https://bit.ly/LTCH-climate-survey.
- Estimated time: Approximately 30 minutes
- Individual site responses: The survey is designed to be completed on a per-site basis, thus, if you operate multiple sites – please fill out the survey for each individual site.
- Deadline: Open until November 2025
- More information: Attach the letter of intent and info flyer
Your participation in the study will help inform strategies to strengthen climate resilience, improve emergency preparedness and support our advocacy efforts to ensure that the sector is prepared for the future.
We invite you to complete the survey and share it within your networks of long-term care operators to ensure broad participation across B.C.
