Get ready to hike, B.C. September 1 – September 21, 2021
Did you know an estimated 70,000 British Columbians are currently living with dementia?
The Climb for Alzheimer’s is an annual event for the Alzheimer Society of B.C. in which participants come together as a province to hike, fundraise and show people living with dementia that they are not alone.
This event is an opportunity to help the Alzheimer Society of B.C. achieve its vision of a province where people living with dementia, their caregivers and their families are acknowledged, supported, and included – a truly dementia-friendly B.C.
In its 10th anniversary year, the Climb for Alzheimer’s will take place across British Columbia between September 1 and September 21, 2021. From Mount Douglas in Victoria to the Summit Peak Trail in Fort Nelson or the Stawamus Chief in Squamish, the list of hikes you can tackle to help reach our goal is endless. No matter whether your hike is up a mountain, up a hill or around a lake, by registering and fundraising you are helping people affected by dementia across B.C.
This year, participants will also have the option to join us as a group as we take on the legendary Grouse Grind® in North Vancouver on Sunday, September 19. We’ll meet at the base of Grouse Mountain to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the Climb and take on the 2,830 steps that make up the Grind®! This in-person event is limited to 150 people as dictated by current public health guidelines.
