175px-CBC_News_Logo.svgThe body of a 76-year-old senior with dementia has been found after she wandered away from her care home in North Vancouver, the woman’s family has confirmed.

RCMP and North Shore Rescue had been searching for Joan Warren since she left her seniors’ residence in the 900 block of Lynn Valley Road in North Vancouver at 9 a.m. PT Friday morning.

On Sunday afternoon, officials announced they had called off the search although Warren’s family and members of the community continued to look for her. Her body was discovered early Sunday evening. Read more…

 An extensive search was launched Friday morning after Joan Warren, 76, disappeared from her care home in Lynn Valley. 

Police say a hiker came upon a female body matching the description Sunday afternoon while out in the trails near the suspension bridge. A positive identification was later made. Read more…

Global BCRCMP say the body of a missing North Vancouver woman was found Saturday afternoon by a hiker near the Lynn Canyon Suspension Bridge.

76-year-old Joan Warren had been missing since Friday morning, after she walked away from her care home in the 900-block of Lynn Valley Road around 9 a.m.
